Yoga In Your Hot Tub

People love doing yoga in Kelowna!  Yoga helps to build strength, balance and flexibility.  By doing a yoga practice in a hot tub, it makes it easier to get into a deeper stretch from the warmth of the water surrounding your muscles by increasing your flexibility.

Before attempting any exercise program do be sure to get clearance from your doctor.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and should you feel lightheaded or dizzy stop what you are doing immediately.

Here are some great poses for hot tub yoga to get you going.

Warm Up; before getting into your hot tub warm up your body.  Do some light stretching which will help loosen those muscles and get them ready for a workout.

Half Moon Pose; stand up in the middle of your hot tub.  Bring your arms up over your head and lock your hands together.  Slowly bend backwards.  If you are worried about your lower back, here is another option.  Place your hands against your lower back, then begin to slowly arch your back with focus on the chest area of your back bone.  Press your elbows together.  Remember to breathe!

Tree Pose; stand straight up in the middle of your hot tub.  Lift your right leg up and out to the side.  Now bend your leg and place your foot on your inner left thigh.  Keep your back straight, look forward and place your hands in above your head, with your palms together.  Repeat again with your left leg.
