Now that the summer season is coming to a close, people are winterizing their pools and opening up their hot tubs.
To make sure you get off on the right foot, here’s a guide to getting your hot tub up and running for the fall:

Clean it Out
The first thing you’ll want to do once you open up your hot tub is clean it out.
Oftentimes, people find a lot of leaves and debris in their spa that have been collecting over the summer months.
Before you do anything with your hot tub, you’ll want to clean it out. Scoop out all the debris, then wash off the interior shell with a cleaning solution called “Spa Life Clean.” This will remove any slime and grime.
Replace the Filter
It’s good to start the fall season off with a fresh cartridge filter.
You don’t want to carry over any bacteria that’s been living in the old cartridge filter, so get a brand new one.
Flush Out the Lines
When cleaning out spas, many people often forget to clean out the lines that are hidden within the tub.
Clean out the lines by filling the spa with hose water, then add a solution called “Swirl Away.”
After adding the solution, let the jets run for a full cycle, then drain out the water.
This should remove all the grease and debris from the internal lines.
Fill the Tub
After you clean everything up, it’s time to fill your tub with water.
You should put the hose in the filter cannister when you add water as to prevent any air locks in the lines.
Add Chemicals
Once your spa is full, add either chlorine or bromine to your floater. You should also shock the water using either “Easy Shock” or “Brite Plus.”
