With Kelowna’s hot weather and bluebird skies, there’s no better place to be than by the poolside this summer. While you’re enjoying your outdoor oasis, sip on one of these three fantastic drinks that will surely quench your thirst:

1. Frosé
Frosé is one of the best drinks to cool you down as you lay out in the sun this summer. It’s a simple recipe that will have you refilling your glass over and over again.
This is what you’ll need:
- 6 cups frozen strawberries
- 1-2 cups ice
- 1 bottle of hearty rosé wine
- 1-2 tablespoons sugar
All you have to do is place it in a blender and process until it’s smooth. If you love rosé, you’ll adore this slushy, poolside version!
2. Cherry Daquiri
A frozen daquiri is a poolside favourite. You can never go wrong with these fruity drinks, especially during the hot Kelowna summers. It’s time to switch out the classic strawberry daquiri for the new and exciting cherry daquiri.
Here are the ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups cherry juice – divided, not tart
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- ¾ cup white rum
- 2 cups frozen sweet cherries
- Sugar – for taste
- Ice – if desired
Step one is to freeze the cherry juice into 12 ice cubes. Once the cherry juice is frozen, add the cherry ice cubes and the rest of the ingredients into a blender, then process until its smooth. If you want to make your drink a little sweeter, add some granulated sugar. If you like your drink thicker, add some ice cubes.
This drink will definitely keep you cool by the poolside!
3. Aperol Spritz
An Aperol Spritz is another fun and easy drink to sip while you lounge by the pool this summer. This Italian cocktail is the perfect balance of sweet and bitter, so you can never go wrong!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Chilled Prosecco
- Aperol
- Club Soda or Blood Orange Soda
- Ice
- Sliced orange – for garnish
A popular ratio for mixing this drink is 3 parts Prosecco: 2 parts Aperol: 2 parts Club Soda. Depending on how strong you want your drink to be, you can adjust the ratio. If you’d like to make your drink sweeter, swap out the Club Soda for Blood Orange Soda.
Add a few ice cubes and a sliced orange of garnish and you’re done! This drink is super easy, making it perfect for pool parties.
